ASK DR. SCHELLING It seems like every evening when I come home from work I find something knocked off a shelf and broken on the floor. How can I keep my belongings safe from my cat while I'm out of the house? –Lisa |

Dear Lisa, You're not alone. I've had this exact issue and I know plenty of other cat lovers who feel they have to hide their precious belongings in order to keep them safe. The easiest solution (and one that I personally use) is Museum Wax. This wax will hold all your valuables safe while your kitty is roaming around the house. DEAR FANCY, I just got a cat who I love but I'm not sure how to play with her. I've always been a dog person and I don't know how well fetch will work out with a cat. –Sarah … … … … Dear Jamie, Congratulations on getting a cat! Just an opinion, but I think we're way better than dogs. Okay, I'm getting off topic. Playing with your cat should be fun for her and you. We love interactive play, the more life like you make a toy the more we'll want to hunt it. Check out this article on how to play with your cat to help bring out the hunter in your kitty. |

ZANIES LIL' KITTEN SWEETHEARTS: I'm not allowed to have those little heart candies with the words on them but I can have Lil' Kitten Sweethearts! The hearts are filled with crunchy paper that drive me nuts when I bite, bat and fling these toys across the room. CATNIP CANDY STICKS: For a pre-Valentine's Day gift, my humans gave me a Candy Stick catnip toy. Purrr! Present this colorfully-patterned toy to the special cat in your life, and you'll be delighted as kitty bats it across the floor, tosses it in the air, pounces on it, and playfully gnaws and claws it. To sweeten the deal, the catnip inside is rated Top Quality by the Department of Cat Happiness and Entitlement. Have a favorite product you want to review? Send it to askfancy@mewsletter.com |
