I heard somewhere that clumping litter is bad for kittens, but I can't figure out why that would be. Is it true, and if so, why?

Dear Concerned, There are some concerns with clumping litter and very young kittens because they may ingest it while grooming or because they think the clumps are food. While there have not been many reports of problems, it is probably best to use a different type of litter for the first four months. HOLIDAY FIELD MOUSE: I always heard that cats and mice couldn't be friends. I believed it, but I shouldn't have.
