Dear Dr. Schelling,

My 13 year old cat was just diagnosed with chronic renal failure. Except for turning up her nose up at certain foods, she gave no indication of being sick. How did this happen?

Dear Rebecca,

It can be hard to tell that a cat is sick. This is especially true if the signs come on gradually, as in kidney failure.
